Case Assessment Resource Team /CIACC Coordinator

An initiative under Governor Christine Todd Whitman, each county in NJ was assigned a Case Assessment Resource Team (CART) tasked to assess for and plan for reducing the lengths of stay for youth in out of home placement. The CART was tasked with developing individualized plan for the return of children to their communities from their out-of-home placements in a more timely manner with intensive, in-home and community based services


  • Worked collaboratively with the RDS at the local DCPP office to identify suitable referrals of youth with behavioral and emotional challenges who were in out of home/out of state placement through who were lingering in placement
  • Responsible for scheduling the bi-monthly meetings that took place at the LO with community partners, members fo the childrens' system of care
  • Gathered and reviewed CART referrals with the RDS at the local DCPP office in Toms River and scheduled bi-monthly planning meetings with the caseworkers who brought the child and their family to the meeting
  • Entered data, generated reports, and produced tracking documents to track the data on children being reunited back in the community from out-of-home residential placements
  • Collaborated with community partners, schools, probation. PESS, MMC/CCIS and other child-serving agencies to foster a unified approach toward shared goals
  • Monitored performance metrics consistently and implemented corrective actions when needed
  • Monitored the annual Wraparound budget allocation by tracking expenses after CART planning meetings, ensuring proper allocation of funding and providing monthly updates
  • The CIACC, Children's Interagency Coordinating Council, and it's subcommittees were tasked with coordinating and planning for youth with special needs by providing a seamless system of care.
