  • I have worked for this agency on and off for 10 years. The first time I left, I was working under a grant and needed to leave for a job (Greene County Skills) that paid more money. A year later, I was invited back by the Executive Director to start the Housing Coordinator position.
  • Five years later, I left to assist my daughter with her growing family, and was able to work 2 temporary positions. (Dwight Mitchell Insurance and Mountain Empire Movers). I was again invited back by the Executive Director to assist in the shelter and office when needed full-time.
  • The last time I left, approximately 2 years age, I took a leave to pursue my Life/Health Insurance licensure and 3 months later, I was invited back to with with the Executive Director as the Housing Coordinator once more, as that position became open.
  • Now, as the Housing Coordinator, I have been responsible for assisting sheltered clients in gathering all important information to complete the application process before it goes to the Executive Director for approval
  • After they are approved, I am charged with explaining and confirming their Fair Market Rents, then we look for housing options, following HUD guidelines.
  • As Shelter Technician, I also offered workshops/counseling sessions regarding abuse and other situations that impact their lives.
  • As Community Educator, I was charged with scheduling 5 presentations per month and networking with other agencies in the community regarding resources for assistance.
  • As Court Advocate, I worked with clients filling out and submitting Orders of Protections for court, as well as attending court, offering emotional support.
  • I have an outgoing personality and enjoy talking with people and working with them to reach the goals they have set for themselves.

While working for Tusculum University, I was awarded the Staff Award, voted and chosen soley by the student body.


While working for Chips Family Violence Shelter, my excellent evaluations have prompted the Board of Directors to advance my pay each year I have worked there.


Also while at Chips as the Housing Coordinator, I worked with the Executive Director, taking the lead in writing all forms and paperwork designed for the Emergency Solutions Grant for sheltered victims of Domestic Violence beginning in 2014 when Chips received the grant.
