A program connecting children to The Great Lakes through hands-on experience on a research vessel.
By now, it should be apparent that I am a Biophile. As a child, I had 186 acres to explore and study, I believe this is where my love for nature began. Camping was an integral part of my experience growing up. So, when I had children of my own, it was very important to me for them to have a connection with nature and all that it provides.
I am currently in the genesis stages of creating self-sustainability. Although, I do not have much land, that definitely will not stop me. With all the marketing scams and schemes that are present in society, it is difficult to trust where your food originates from. I have always been a staunch supporter of self-advocacy in every facet of life. Transparency and honesty in the marketing world is hard to come by but I believe if enough of us, collectively, continue to chirp about these challenges then someone at some point will be held accountable. I have faith.
Rocks, Rocks, Rocks!! I love them!! Every summer, my children and I would go rock hunting. They both knew that when I pulled over, one of them was obligated to fetch the lonely rock on the side of the road. My thought, they need a home and appreciation. It is so ingrained in them that whenever they are traveling, I always end up with more to add to my collection. Rocks are the only type of souvenir I want.
