Accomplishments

  • Led a multidisciplinary team to establish and implement the only ECMO program in East Tennessee in 2020, demonstrating a significant yearly volume increase. The ECMO program achieved the ELSO Silver Level Path to Excellence Award in 2024, a testament to our team's dedication and commitment to patient care.
  • Developed a cardiogenic shock program to include education, escalation protocol with a corresponding order set, and data management process for quality improvement. This process has led to increased ECMO consults and the use of MCS devices to improve patient outcomes.
