I started running on my 7th grade track team but always felt like I was running in the shadows of my older track star sister It wasn’t until much later, in my early 30’s, that I discovered with discipline and proper training I could place in the top 3 of my age group in races I was addicted to the competition, entering mostly half marathons but also tackling 2 full marathons Running eventually caught up with my knees and I had to give up racing but still enjoy an occasional short jog, Without the vigorous training schedule, I have found time for another love of mine—baking This has become a most therapeutic ritual for me, and I can often be found in the kitchen whipping up the most decadent treats when stressed
