But when I got the news that one of my photos had been recognized, it was like seeing my potential through the lens for the first time. It wasn’t just a ribbon or a title—it was proof that something I created had value. That moment gave me confidence I’d never had before. For once, I felt like I stood out for something that was entirely my own.

That accomplishment pushed me to keep going. I joined my school’s photo club, learned from others, and eventually applied for a leadership role. Winning that honorable mention didn't just validate my work—it sparked a journey of personal growth. Photography helped me manage anxiety, gave me a creative outlet, and, most importantly, helped me find a place where I truly belong.
