- Technician-I Greet the patient in the waiting area and perform Visual acuity, chair skills and IOPs using Goldmann. I also perform all diagnostic testing needed for our patient to see Ophthalmologist or Optometrist. Testing includes but not limited to Visual Field testing, diagnostic refractions, Topography’s, and A-scan measurements for cataract surgery, ONH and MAC OCTs, Fundus Photos, ECCs, Eidon retinal imaging.
- Contact lens teaches- I work with patient to teach them how to insert and remove soft lenses , RGPs and Scleral lenses.
- Scribe- Go in with the doctor and build patients plan, verbalize all findings to doctor and add new ones to patients chart. Code all diagnosis', Interpret all testing with in the plan. Code and Bill for visit correctly, write and ERX all medications prescribed by doctor and add follow up to plan for patients next visit.
- Counselor- I counsel all pre-op patients getting ready to have cataract surgery. I Discuss lens options with them that is best for their life style and make them comfortable with the upcoming processes to have cataract surgery.
- Call center- Greet patient and make them feel at ease with the scheduling process. Using EMA to schedule appointments and educate patient on what they need to bring to their appt depending on what they are coming in for. I also obtain insurance information and run insurance for eligibility and then educate patient on co-pays and out of pocket expenses.
- Front desk- Check in the patient and collect co-pays needed and then at check out I will make follow up appts that are recommended by the doctor.
- Administration-I perform incoming tasks that include but not limited to Prior Authorizations, Med refills, questions for the doctor as I am the liason between the patient and doctor. I also perform schedule changes when doctors are out, reschedules and scheduling template changes.
- Allergy testing- I perform per cutaneous allergy testing on patients
- I also train new hires and educate them to be able to perform all aspects within the clinic responsibilities.
- Optical- I assist patients with finding the best pair of frames that not only looks good but functional for the type of lenses they need. Run insurance eligibility and go over all lens options with patient that suites their wants and needs. Dispense glasses and perform adjustments as needed.
