  • Contact insurance companies and get benefits information and check to see if surgery is covered by the patient's plan. Verify that Doctor and Hospital are in network with a patient's plan.
  • Maintained up-to-date knowledge of insurances requirements for surgeries. Submit authorizations for surgery, and keep Doctors updated on the approval process. If needed, schedule peer to peer to get surgery approved.
  • Contact patients and explain their benefits for surgery. Explain the fees associated with surgery and their payment options. Help patient's decide the best payment option.
  • Follow up with offices, to make sure payment has been collected prior to surgery. If payment has not been collected, then follow up with the office to find out why.

  • Schedule procedures for our Newnan and Peachtree City locations.
  •  Check patient's benefits and determine what they will owe for procedures.
  •  Start prior authorizations for procedures and if the procedure is denied by the insurance company, then appeal or set up a peer to peer with the physician.
  •  Check with the physician to see if a rep is required to be present during the procedures, then contact the reps and confirm appointment times. 
  • When scheduling procedures with patients, check their medical history to see if any paperwork is needed from their primary care physician. This paperwork is usually anticoagulant  letters and cardiac clearances. 
  • Go over pre-op instructions with the patients at least 4 days before their scheduled procedure. 
  • When going over the pre-op instructions, I make sure that all necessary blood work is done. Tell the patients what to do if they are having anesthesia with their procedures and how many days they needs to come off blood thinners.
