  • My current duties include processing new intake patients as they come in, which involves entering their orders into the system, organizing their first nursing appointment, as well as entering and working on the prior authorization. Duties include filling and labeling prescriptions, interacting with customers to answer general questions, billing questions, or to schedule their prescription delivery. This does involve contacting customers to notify them when their prescription is ready, out of stock, on back order, or if there are any shipping delays. I also am a liaison between drug programs, patient, and provider’s offices to ensure clear communication as well as procure any required funding to assist patient with copays. I assist in patient application to programs such as state or private funded assistance programs as well for patients who do not qualify for manufacturer assisted funding. I deal with specialty IV and injectable medications, and am the only technician handling the processing of a new drug to market. This means I am solely responsible for all patients incoming for that drug, handle all prior authorization and appeals processing, and am the sole contact between the manufacturer and the drug assistance program for that drug. Due to an upcoming marriage, I am looking for a position that I may be able to transfer to a new location in the future while retaining my position, which is unfortunately not doable through this company as there are no locations outside of this state.
