  • Responsible for supporting and monitoring projects, programs and operations within Global Procurement and Third Party Management assigned to the Cigna Medical Group Practice, Cigna Onsite Health and other lines of business. This position organizes, coordinates workflows and resources in addition to updating and maintaining documentation associated with assigned projects. Performs duties of confidential nature requiring initiative, good judgment, detail follow through and a thorough knowledge of company policies and objectives to achieve financial goals. Will build relationships with appropriate areas to optimize the Strategic Sourcing performance.
  • Core Responsibilities
  • Responsible for acquiring materials, supplies and services, placing purchase orders for goods and services that have standard costs and quoted discounts already in place.
  • Follows up on orders; responsible for approximately $5 to $10 million in material purchases
  • Coordinates purchasing activities with other departments to maintain inventory at planned levels.
  • Responsible for identifying savings opportunities to improve performance for CMG/COH, presenting the opportunities to the Manager.
  • Responsible for supporting the Manager on expense budgets for each HealthCare Center including COH client budgets/projections and monitoring the actual results.
  • Responsible for validating pricing in client contracts, managing prepaid supply/inventory process.
  • Interprets, researches and responds to specific purchasing requests, inquiries and problems.
  • Continually communicates with line of business contacts, managers, disbursement operations, shipping/receiving and Systems support for CMG and COH divisions and field office customers.
  • Works closely with the Manager and Peers to assure timely execution of new equipment and supply purchases, maximum utilization of surplus and provides accurate records of disposal and transfer of fixed assets.
  • Resolves supplier payment problems, statement irregularities and customer service issues.
  • Assists with special projects as required by Manager or higher Band level team members.
  • Establish par levels and center/department guidelines for supply orders.
  • Prepare/update order lists individual departments to ensure cost-effective ordering. Monitor expenses; report problems or inconsistencies to Manager.
  • Act as a liaison between administration, departments, and suppliers.
  • Monitors due dates to ensure assigned deadlines are met. Notifies Manager if the potential for not meeting a deadline exists.
  • Maintains daily operational processes such as e-mails, screening and responding to telephone calls and inquiries as necessary.

  • Handles and executes complex and critical customer service requests. Receives, evaluates and acknowledges commitment of requisitions. Contacts customers, recommends cost effective enhancements, corrects customer information and communicates changes to affected parties.
  • Uses sound judgment to negotiate resolution of scheduling conflicts to assure Cigna interests are appropriately represented to suppliers and customers.
