Lan Zhang

The aspiring individual who wants to pursue a career in law enforcement with a bachelor's degree in business administration from Yanshan University and an associate degree in law enforcement administration from Mt.San Antonio College. It was my dream to work in the law enforcement field. After coming to the United States, I recognized the need for a bridge between the Chinese community and law enforcement agencies. I want to focus on helping law enforcement agencies and immigrant communities build trust, improve communication, and strengthen community policing by using my fluent Mandarin, professional law enforcement skills, and passion for service.

• As a new immigrant, I understand of cultural dynamics, especially within immigrant communities, with the ability to bridge cultural gaps in communication. I can leveraged fluency in Mandarin to improve relations and foster trust between law enforcement and underserved populations.
• As a member of the university debate team, I developed excellent listening and communication skills. I further honed through customer service roles from work experiences, ensuring clear and effective interactions with diverse groups.
• As a dreamer who has always dreamed of working in law enforcement, I am deeply committed to fostering positive relationships between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve. I am determined to use my unique background and skills to serve as a bridge between the community and law enforcement agencies to better deliver law enforcement services.
