I am a highly motivated, self-sufficient individual who likes to problem solve. Where there is a lack in knowledge I try to quickly resolve this by research and study, which in turn is shared to my peers as this will further engrain my understanding of that gained knowledge. I am a firm believer that communication is a invaluable skill set to have in any type of workplace, and am constantly learning to improve my communicating skills to help better myself and the people around me.
Provide ICD-9/ICD-10 CMS codes as well as CPT codes for various hospital based INPT and OUTPT accounts. I also created a monthly newsletter that was distributed to the hospital physicians. This was to help assist them with proper documenting skills, and to lessen the physician queries that were generated by the coders.
Provided transport of Inpatient medical records to and from the hospital. As well as retrieved said charts from storage at the request of the nurses, physicians, and coders. Also maintained the medical record by filing reports in the correct order as needed.
Provided transport of Outpatient medical records to and from the hospital/clinics. Maintained the output record, filing incoming documents, and assisted other departments to locate records/reports. Assisted the Master Patient Index department off hours to assign medical records to newborn babies.
