Hard-working individual with a desire to grow in their capacity to minister to the next generation. Passionate about seeing students grow in their personal relationship with God. Works well in a team setting to make sure events/projects are planned thoroughly and completed in excellence.
As the NextGen Coordinator, I coordinate for both Youth and Young Adults at the Southlake Campus of Gateway Church. For Youth, I help support the vision of our Youth Pastor by managing the administrative side of the ministry. Things like managing our department's Coupa, making sure our PCO reservations are up to date, communicating with LP and Worship to structure our weekly services, overseeing weekly set up/dinner for students, etc. I also occasionally get to preach on Wednesday Nights and teach at our Sunday Morning Bible Study.
For Young Adults, I operate as our Southlake Campus Representative. This includes being present on Tuesday Nights to meet YA's and get them connected to different departments within our campus, planning offsite hang outs for the Southlake Campus YA's, taking YA's to lunches/coffees to get to know them and see how I could best connect them to others, etc.
Representing Gateway Church to local Middle/High Schools by supporting them physically, financially and spiritually. This looked very different on a week-to-week basis but included speaking to faith-based clubs, partnering with students to help start/maintain clubs at their schools, providing food and drinks for clubs, school staff, and sports teams. Stewarding a budget given specifically for Student Outreach events, resources, etc. Having a consistent and encouraging presence in our local schools. Supporting the GWS team with any Wednesday night service needs each week.
Spent 6 months as an intern in GME. Monday-Wednesday I worked in the office with the GWS team at the Southlake campus. Learned the processes, online systems, accounting program and their weekly structure. On Thursdays, we listened to 3 different sessions led by current Gateway staff members. We learned about culture, spiritual disciplines, Gateway DNA, etc. On weekends, we jumped into the Pastoral rotation to gain hands-on ministry experience.
Prepared the campus for each event that was taking place, cleaned/ sanitized the building, assisted with major ministry events (Clean up and Tear Down), supported the campus staff with anything else that was needed.
Design Blackboard course shells of new courses, update the course shells of old courses, communicate with professors to ensure that they submit course materials on time, answer any questions from professors via email and/or phone call, update and organize the data base. Gained valuable office experience and learned how to work with a team.
