With a proven track record at Thorsby Police Department, I've excelled in leadership, demonstrating integrity and verbal communication. Promoted to Police Lieutenant, I oversaw departmental operations, ensuring state compliance and enhancing team efficiency. My background spans across various law enforcement roles, highlighting my adaptability and commitment to public safety. If given the opportunity, I would like to bring my leadership back to The University of Montevallo and to the police department.
Being the Lieutenant at Thorsby Police Department is the highest ranking officer under the Chief of Police. I am currently over the rest of the officers in the department. This includes three patrol officers, an investigator, and our school SRO. I assist the chief with running the department. This includes making sure that our policies are followed, dealing with complaints, and any other things that come with the job. I also help with assigning purchase orders and payroll when the chief is out of town or unable to do so. A lot of my job consists of making sure the department is in order with state compliance, entering training with the the state, and adding or removing officers employment with the state.
I worked night shift patrol as an officer at the University of Montevallo. My job there consisted of patrolling the campus on foot and in a vehicle. I locked all the academic buildings up at night when the classes were over. Walked the dorms at night to be sure that the students were following the rules and worked sporting events.
As a corrections officer at The Baldwin County Jail, I was in charge of helping maintain order at the jail. The job consisted of making sure that the inmates were following the rules, were where they were supposed to be by doing headcounts, and just observing their activity in the pods.
I was employed with Clanton PD for multiple years. I started out as a nightshift patrolman where my job consisted of doing routine patrols of the city. During those patrols, I enforced traffic violations, arrested people for DUI and drug charges, answered calls of service, and worked wrecks. I was then moved to an evening shift position where i done all these same duties. In the end, the department swapped over to 12 hour shifts on rotating weekends. It was at this time that I applied for a corporal position on nightshift and was promoted. I worked underneath my sergeant in making sure that I shift ran smoothly. I also checked reports to make sure they were done correctly at the end of every shift.
In my time with The Chilton County Sheriff's Office, I worked as nightshift and dayshift patrol. My duties there were to patrol the county, work traffic, answer calls, serve civil papers, and arrest anyone that had warrants or that I ran into and they had broken the law.
This was my first job out of the police academy. I worked nightshift patrol. My job duties consisted of working traffic, make arrests, and calls, take reports, and work wrecks.
