  • Assigning and monitoring the duties of subordinate crews engaged in a variety of construction and maintenance activities.
  • Review, evaluate and coordinate with various trades.
  • Ensure that jobs are running under budget by updating the status report in Maximo once a month. Plan set up and schedule jobs, including ordering supplies and required equipment for projects.
  • Review engineering designs blueprints and specifications.
  • Meet with the Safety group, engineers, architects, project managers, and other trades on site before construction begins for job walk to discuss current or future projects.
  • Meet and Coordinate with the Bureau of Contractors Administration when inspecting job sites.
  • Prepare Estimates, Field Change Notices, Request for Construction Services, Work Order Request Forms, Request for Information Forms, Create and maintain job logs, equipment logs, time report logs, vehicle logs.
  • Monitor Power Construction and Maintenance jobs for safety and compliance by scheduling and coordinating safety and training classes for my subordinate employees, also ensure that the Injury and Illness Prevention Program and the Job Hazard Analysis have been created approved and signed for each new project.
  • Conduct interviews and employee evaluations, also assist in creating the criteria for exams and interviews given by the Department of Water and Power.
  • Create Traffic Plans within City, State, and Federal guidelines while working in the City and State Right of Way.
  • Procure Permits for work done on Freeway off-ramps, Boulevards and Highways in conjunction with the Bureau of Engineering, Department of Transportation, Caltrans, Street Lighting, and the Department of Transportation.
  • Maintain safety site audits, daily tailgates, bi-weekly safety meetings, participate in safety tours, ensure that subordinate crew attend all quarterly safety meetings, and ensuring all chemical hazards materials are stored and labeled correctly on the jobsite.
  • Investigate and document incidents requiring disciplinary actions.
  • Utilize computer maintenance management programs: Outlook-communicating and planning, emails, Maximo-tracking of approved hours for completion of projects, status reports, and procurement of materials, Work-tech/Workday time management, Microsoft Edge-Word, Excel, spreadsheets, and create PDF files for overtime request documents for approval, Zoom/Google Meet meetings, Virtual meetings with Bureau of Engineering, Teams Meeting, Word Documents, Adobe Acrobat, Caltrans Encroachment Permit Systems
  • Ensured durable and high-quality finishes with the proper application of sealing agents and curing processes.
