I am excited to learn more and gain valuable experience in pediatric care. I strive to become the best nurse I can be and know that time on the floor will contribute to my skills and performance ability so that I can reach my full potential.
I work as a server at a local pizza place where I perform as a team member and provide strong customer service to all guests that visit the restaurant.
I was able to have this experience over the summer before my introduction to pediatric nursing this past fall. I learned how to care for two one-year-old girls via feeding them, ensuring their safety, aiding their cognitive and physical development, performing basic skills such as bathing and clothing, and generally how to form therapeutic relationships with small children.
Through this experience in VHC's PACU, I was introduced to clinical care, learned from and worked alongside nurses on the unit, and began basic skill practice such as taking vitals and ensuring patient safety.
