Supervising Social Worker

  • Task and assign, supervise, review and evaluate work completed by Social Workers under my direct supervision.
  • Provide support to staff with special case situations; advise Social Workers on concerns relating to cases involving complex problems.
  • At times, complete the duties of a Social Worker including but not limited to: completing in-home assessments, maintain case documentation, prepare reports, and write routine correspondence.
  • Develop and deliver work performance evaluations.
  • Participate in job interview panels; complete hiring memos, update candidate lists and completed Request to Fill position documents.
  • Deliver training to newly hired Social Workers in and outside of my unit.
  • Assist Social Workers in preparing for State Hearings; served as a witness in place of Social Workers during hearings, if needed.
  • Served as lead safety supervisor; recruited volunteers and assisted with managing operations for various critical incidents and emergency responses by the Department.
