I was a part of a small youth group at Appleton Alliance Church for many years. In my small grou,p we collaborated to sponsor a family in need during the holidays. My small group would collect donations from families in the nearby communities, therefore allowing the family we sponsored to have a stress free holiday. This would include covering certain bill costs, groceries and purchasing presents for their children. I also had the opportunity to collaborate with other small groups from surrounding communities to volunteer time with other organizations in nearby areas in need of a helping hand.

Accomplishments

I was accepted into the National Honor Society during my junior year of high school. I attended meetings every week where we had guest speakers come in and discuss opportunities for involvement in the local community. I was surrounded by a lot of other successful peers who shared similar academic goals. During this period of involvement, I was able to get involved in my community and hear from many successful individuals.

Certification

I was able to obtain my CNA license through Quality CNA training. During this program, I learned the essential skills that were needed to work as a CNA. In my training, I learned essential skills such as taking vitals, glucose tests, charting, and numerous hygienic care skills. I was also able to practice these skills in my clinicals and obtain patient interaction skills which are crucial to my future career practice as a nurse.
