Hello, my name is Lauryn Perkins and I am currently a Sophomore in college that goes to Kennesaw State University. I plan to pursue my career of being an Ultrasound Technician and Mentor to young boys and girls. I am a very hardworking person and I have so many skills that I would like to use towards my next job opportunity. I have experience from working in other jobs and also volunteering and doing community service events. I have accomplished leading my own shifts, and carrying out duties needed to complete the job, all while maintaining a smile on my face ensuring that customers and fellow employees get the best care possible. I plan to strive hard in any job I receive and I am ready to show why I am a great asset to the team. I currently major in Integrated Health Science while minoring in Public Health, and plan to complete my Masters shortly after I finish my bachelors degree. I have been dedicated in everything I do and take extreme pride in how my actions may affect others, so I always make sure I am respectful at all times no matter what the situation may be.
- Since I was in Elementary School, I have always maintained having all A’s and B’s and now that I am in college, I have been striving for the same, and much more. I also was a student athlete growing up playing Softball since I was 8, which really helped me to have a competitive mindset. With that mindset, I always strived to do even better than my last game or last exam or anything really.
When I attended Georgia Southern University, I was apart of a club called NAACP, and this club really showed me how to become a leader within my own community. I went to so many events to support my community and it really helped me to grow into the person I am today. Giving back to others or just taking time to hear people is something I value, and this club really showed me that I can make a change by just starting somewhere that’s closest to me.
Another club that I am currently in now is called DIVAS and that stands for Demonstrating Individual Values Amongst Sisters. I attend this club at Kennesaw State University, and this club represents mentoring young girls and boys ranging from middle school to high school. This club is very beneficial in my opinion because students need help as they navigate this big world all by themselves as they get older. It doesn’t get any easier, and we come in to help these kids so that they have a plan and really know what they want to do with their lives.
