Dr. Bill Beacham, Ph. D.
I have real World experience in a data driven Government regulatory industry.
Driving around is probably the most unpleasant aspect of UST experience.
I drive less now for the UST work and have reduced my workload dramatically.
I still work 7 days per Month doing UST.
I qualified for State tennis at Ojai my senior year in High School, Irvine 1980.
I did teach tennis in my youth for Dave Saltz management in Irvine and some in Newport Beach 1980-81.
Danny Saltz played at UCLA. A hot headed self entitled brother of Dave!
I sandbagged Oklahoma in early 80's when my parents moved there. I was undefeated in Oklahoma USTA playing my best tennis after High School.
I am very good friends with Jim Shaunessy former ATP tour pro, in fact we played local pickup doubles.
I remember we beat a #1 ranked stud dominate High School duo together once. I went some to Jim's ATP tour matches.
I have an impressive front page sports photo circa Irvine World news. My fame moment. #1 singles at Irvine with coach Bill Beacham. I owe every serve I hit to coach B., a Genius at breaking the serve motion down. My ground strokes are classic, volley is good, overhead was very good in the day. My serve peaked throughout the 80's. Still good.
Tennis is more than a game, more than winning a match against someone else, its about overcoming yourself mind and body. Diet, sleep, relaxation, everything.
Who do I remember in tennis?
