I am on crew which controls and extinguishes fires, assist in control of extinguishing fires. I assist in inspecting buildings and facilities in search of safety violations and fire hazards, inspect service and refill fire extinguishers.
  • Experience in all areas of Hazardous materials operations, training in Incident Command and Scene Control, auto extrication, forcible entry, ropes and knots, protective equipment, ventilation, water supply, sprinkler systems, salvage and overhaul, building types and their construction and hazardous materials response and steps to take for appropriate clean up, and above all else following all safety regulations. I am familiar with company Standard Operating Procedures, and all other state safety regulations.
  • I also have experience as an Emergency Medical Technician. My experience includes, but is not limited to maintain airway, control bleeding, shock management, emergency baby delivery, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and basic life support. I oversee patient care and scene control on an automobile accident, I assist in extrication and perform extrication and stabilization of the patient. I assess the patient for life threatening injuries and treat them as necessary. Assess the patient to determine what the appropriate medical facility will be and arrange for transport whether it be by ambulance or helicopter. I communicate with the fire department, sheriff’s department and main communications system through radio and on scene communications. I am also a certified driver on apparatus.
  • Along with above listed duties I am responsible for inventory of all fire gear assigned in the station and am a training officer for the department training new members as they join the department. Daily I supervise up to 5 members on calls and duties around the station. I am also a Driver trainer on all apparatus in the station along with being a lead instructor in teaching new members who join the department. I am also in charge of our rescue squad and the equipment carried on it.
