I was tasked with designing and creating costumes for an all Native cast of 7 for a play portraying a contemporary rural family over a 4 day period. Along with casual clothing, and work clothing, I created a Traditional Mvskoke Dress with bling for a heavenly effect.
My tasks involved costuming as well as set design and props. I had several cast members and several locations all created and filmed in a 48 hour period.
I won the award for Best Set Design
Nanyehi is a period short film. I created all of the cultural props and assisted in costume making. I also designed and dressed the sets for filming.
The film is now in the Oklahoma Film Hall of Fame.
My duties included creating all of the cultural props, assisting with costume making and repairing. measuring actors, making moccasins, trade shirts, all types of clothing and headpieces.
