I will say i’m proud of the person i’ve become in the job world, some of ya’ll make it look so easy. Starting off with becoming a sever for my family’s cafe was when all the learning experiences kicked in. From my first job I was able to acquire communication skills, teamwork, problem solving, and a good work ethic.
Going into my second job as a floral assistant was when the fun kicked in, this job was one of my favorite’s mainly because it was a creative job, where i could put my mind to work. I spent my days delivering flowers, cleaning the shop, running errands, and making pretty floral arrangements for the cooler! Definitely had lots of opportunities to expand my creativity and learn all the roads while while delivering!
I’ve always loved food, because who doesn’t? I started to take interest in backstories (if you’d say) of food around 3 years ago before my grandma was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. After that i really dug down into what foods would boost her dopamine or vitamins in the ways she needs, and of course wouldn’t help at all. Did you know that one of the worst side effects of Parkinson’s is not being able to fall asleep? That’s when Cherries and acai bowls come into play! They boost your melatonin and protein/vitamin intake.
I had been dancing for around 8 years, up to my junior year. Its been something i love and something i’d reject, but its always been there. When i was going through terrible moments in life, dance was there. When everything was going right, dance was there. The history and what dance can be is something i don’t want to step away from. The feeling you can give people while putting on a performance is magic. Something i would pay to see again and again. There is so much to discover about dance, and to much for it to go unnoticed. I have won trophy after trophy, champion after champion, scholarship after scholarship. But the best feeling is knowing that no trophy can give you the feeling of being on that stage, and that’s what’s priceless. There is so much to be taught and still so much to learn, and every time i would step away from dance i’d step back, i left my junior year of dance for my family and i won’t get to finish my senior year. Let this job be my step back!
