I am currently responsible for the cadet roster. I am responsible for keying appointments, keying all pay, and personnel documents, including PARS and EARs, utilizing SCO and BIS. I initiate all documentation to release pay for cadets and/or garnishments. I input and maintain all hours worked by using an Excel spreadsheet. I maintain accuracy by comparing employees' 998s and FLSA's. Process all cadet check-outs by ensuring all necessary documents are signed, and determine if a salary advance is necessary for a cadet leaving. Create cadet reports for specific weeks for institutions' IPOs. Complete all VOE, as necessary. Process the salary advance to comply with state guidelines. Obtain PAR, 612, and OPF for prior state employees coming into the academy, and perform salary determination. Maintain great communication with all levels of staff, and I ensure our current roster stays up to date. I am responsible for orientation for new cadets every six weeks. I speak to 200-300 cadets at one time, providing a mass onboarding presentation by following a PowerPoint. I provide direction to every new class on how to complete new hire documents, and educate new cadets on the processes and policies they must follow. I am currently responsible for two cadet classes simultaneously, estimated to be around 400 employees.
