In Automotive Technology, I have learned about PPE, MSDS, and hoisting vehicles. I learned how to use the service manual of the vehicle that I am about to work on, using hand tools and machinery, to do service on. Studying the coursework to understand about how a certain component does its work in a system and its problems that can be fixed. I learned why using a scan tool is important to communicate with the ECU to diagnose codes, and pull up data and compare it to specifications to confirm vehicle concerns. I learned how to use a picoscope to read a sensor's waveform if it is operating correctly to manufacturer's specifications. I've been using deep impact guns, torque wrenches and hand tools to remove parts and install back on according to the service manual. I learned how to use a multimeter/power probe on electrical components using ohm's law to diagnose relays, fuses, open/shorts, and voltage drops.
