We have a variety of activities we do on the weekends such as shopping for groceries and yard sales and thrift stores all of which my client loves. we go see movies with groups of her peers and occasionally we attend concerts or other outdoor events. i take her to church every Sunday and various church activities. I also assist with all medications and treatments including keeping a completed Medication Administration Record and other charting on activities and issues and behaviors.
I am a retired LPN who has worked in a variety of health related positions over the past 25 years but my favorite position is working with those with disabilities. I began working as a DSP in 2015 for Independent Living and was with them for about a year and a half. I took some time off and worked as a PCA for Area Agency on Aging until 06/2019. due to a move and needing to get things accomplished I took off work until March 2022 when I returned to work for Independent Living again. I was the weekend shift supervisor at the same place I now do nights. I was in that position for about a year and a half then transferred to the community to help with a client who was total care and required a great deal more time and care than most of the staff were able to provide. I worked for that client about 8 months then left Independent Living in April of 2024. At that time I had already picked up 2 additional jobs. I was working for the United Cerebral Palsy Agency and Pentacle In Home Care. I continued both jobs until I was hired at Bost in April 2024. My hope is to find a job that i can enjoy and not need to work 105 hours a week to make a good living one day.
I am CPR/First aid certified by the American Heart Association.
