Empathetic volunteer at Our House Inc, adept at fostering client relationships and enhancing emotional development. Demonstrated reliability and cultural sensitivity while organizing donations and assisting individuals facing housing insecurity. Skilled in active listening and problem-solving, I effectively communicate with diverse groups, contributing to positive mental health outcomes and dignified experiences.
While volunteering at Hurricane Creek Elementary, I observed how intentionally the school counselor supports students' emotional development. Through lessons I taught, students were able to express and talk through their feelings which helps guide them to understand, regulate them, and communicate them appropriately. This experience showed me how early emotional education can positively impact mental health.
At Our House, I volunteered at the donation store, where I helped organize clothing, assist customers, and support individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. While volunteering several days a week, I was able to form relationships with people who came in regularly to clothe them in attire that made them feel confident and dignified.
