• Wrote and designed several of MGM's nightly AWS backups for the SAP applicaton and Oracle Database. Using Cron scheduler, AWS SSM Run documents, and AWS EventBridge. I was able to receive the completiong status and trigger the Backups to set the SAP backups into Hotbackup mode before and after running AWS backups. This allowed for successful recoveries of the SAP and Oracle Database.
• As a Sr. Systems Administrator i worked with a team of Cloud engineering consultants from 'Effectual'. MGM SUSE Linux servers were moved from VMWare, to AWS EC2 Instances running Oracle Linux version 7.9. I established all Samba shares, AWS EFS, NFS and CIFS File system mounts.
• As Sr. Systems Administrator, i migrated all HP proliant servers running SUSE Linux to VMWare using the VMWare'P2V' tool.
• As a Sr. Systems Administrator, i managed and lead a team of EMC engineers and HP Engineers in the successful migration of MGM's (EMC VMAX storage array), ( 2 x Brocade Director SAN Switches), ( 8 x HP Npar servers), (14 x HP proliant servers running SUSE Linux), (IBM AS400) and (1 x Storatek L700 Tape library) to a remote site name 'SwitchNap' in Las Vegas. This was all achieved in a single Weekend. No downtime for End users during the migrations.
• Managed and lead multiple Disaster Recovery operations at HP's Colorado DR site. Succefully met all RTO's within the agreed upon SLA's. I recovered (Netbackup software), restore (6 x proliant servers running SUSE Linux), and restored the (IBM AS400).
• Received a special Employee of the month award from CIO of IT for my work efforts and experience.
• Wrote MGM's automated Bank Transfer scripts that uses native Linux GPG-PGP encryption software. These scripts sweep an output directory for SAP bank files that are sent to either (Bank of America, Wells Fargo bank, City National bank, Royal bank of Canada, JP Morgan bank). Wrote a Menu interface for the Application team members to safely control the status of the transfers and run many reports.
• As a Sr Systems Administrator i took the lead in migrating all the HP NPAR servers to the new HP SuperDome (Npar/Lpar) Partion server.
• As a Systems Administrator i managed and lead the migrations of (8) old HP9000 servers using SAN attached storage to the newer HP NPAR servers such as HP RP7410's, and 8420's. All Application and Database related File Systems were all mounted on the newer haredware with no loose of data.
• Created diagrams and documentation for Management to show the Hardware upgrade paths of (8) the old HP9000 L-Class and N-class servers running HPUX OS. Before making any purchase, the document and diagram was used to show the compatibilities between the old servers and the newer HP NPAR servers such as HP RP7410's, and 8420's.
• Installed and configured the Backup/Restore solution using Netbackup 'Enterprise Backup software' on the HP NPar N-class server. Configured and scheduled all (HPUX, Linux, Windows, and PC) to run backups to the StoragTek L700 Robotic Tape library.
• Managed and lead the SAN migration from Brocade Silkworm switches to Brocade Director switches.
• Managed and lead the SAN Storage migration from the EMC DMX4 Storage array to the EMC Vmax.
• Managed and lead the SAN Storage migration from the EMC DMX3 Storage array to the DMX4 Storage array.
• Managed and lead the SAN Storage migration from the HP256 Storage array to EMC's DMX3 Storage array.
• Managed and lead the Storage migration of all HP JBOD disks to the HP256 SAN Storage array.
• Wrote performance programs on the IBM AS/400 to automatically balance load Job priorities and interactive Users sessions.
• Wrote a Menu driven backup solution on 3 x IBM AS/400's. This menu allowed the Computer Operations staff to run backups on specific scheduled times.
• As a Systems Support Specialist, I created all the AS/400 File Schema's used by the ESS Rights Licensing Application. I wrote an automatic CL program that automatically transferred (20) specific AS400 Journalled physical files to a remote N-class HP9000 server. This process used the SNA communication over an NT Gateway Server. All 20 output files were imported into Territories for our sales teams to make deals.
