• The small size and flexible schedule at the Sparhawk Lower School kept me challenged and dynamic in the 18 years that I was employed there

• We simply provided a small teacher to student ratio and a focus on project-based or discussion-based curriculum with frequent movement breaks and loads of outdoor time on our wooded campus
• Very often, this was enough to calm anxious children and allow them to access skills they didn't know they had! I really enjoyed the variety of individuals that came to our little school - many of them reminded me of ME when I was their age! I also played an integral role in the school's accreditation process, both by visiting other independent schools as a volunteer team, and as a member of the steering committee for Sparhawk's own accreditation committee visit
• By being a vital part of the accreditation process, I could ensure that my practice reflected the high standards required for a school to successfully educate young students in this modern age
