- My daily duties have included:
- Assisting veterinarians in daily surgery and medical treatment of animals in the shelter
- Monitoring patients while under anesthesia, post-op, and recovery.
- Properly collecting and submitting laboratory samples for testing
- Performing digital x-ray and imaging processing
- Working with intake staff to triage cases and ensure that care is provided in a timely manner.

- Monitoring clinic caseload and capacity for care ensuring optimal patient safety and clinic efficiency
- Under direct supervision of veterinarian and in accordance with rules of the Ohio Pharmacy Board and DEA, managing secure handling of controlled substances and the medication safes in the clinic
- Accurately maintaining animal health records and computer files in PetPoint and Shelterluv
- Providing training and education to staff and volunteers on disease control standards and shelter medicine protocols
- Assisting with orientation, training and supervision of staff, volunteers and students on clinic related duties, animal care protocols and shelter medicine as needed
- Overseeing staff animal veterinary care benefit program scheduling and record keeping
- Performing euthanasia of animals as needed
- Promoting a safe workplace environment and follows safety protocol; taking immediate action to address any safety concerns and immediately notifies supervisor; follows OSHA safety rules and guidelines
