Helping with a five-year-old was a joyful job. It was often messy and loud. We built forts out of blankets. We read the same story many times. Sometimes they cried over small things. I helped them calm down with a hug. They asked "why" about everything. This made me see the world in a new way. I helped them, but they also taught me. It was all about patience, fun, and love.
