Highly-motivated Probation Officer with 1 year of experience in the criminal justice system, including case management, working closely with communities, and the supervision of youth. Young professional with excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
-Serve as primary case manager for youth referred to DJJ through diversion, intake, probation or parole supervision
-Interview youth, family members and any service providers serving the youth to assess youth's level of functioning, strengths, and needs
-Monitor youth for compliance with court orders and diversion contracts
-Provide alternatives to incarceration through use of graduated responses and Alternative Placements
-Serve as on-call agent on assigned weeks
-Appear and testify in court
-Provide comprehensive plan of supervision for the assigned youth to include diversion, probation or intake
-Develop a comprehensive needs-based case management plan
-Advocate on behalf of youth and families to ensure appropriate, timely and consistent services
-Conduct assessments and gather social history to determine services and living arrangements for youth re-entry to the community
-Maintain a case file to include data entry and uploading documents
-Promote restorative justice practices to address the repair of harm/compensation to victims and communities
-Prepare reports, court recommendations, forms, and participate in various meetings to include interagency staffings
-Participate in job related training and workshops for professional development
-Conduct other duties as assigned, required, or requested
