I have been a volunteer firefighter for many many years i have been a line officer for 3 years and i am currently a officer with my volunteer company and with the oss butler works fo the clevland cliffs i am an acting supervisor and LT 54 2.
My daily duty's as a firefighter/ patrol was to respond to all emergency that would happen such as fire alarms medicals hazmat incidents active fires. When we wernt busy running calls i had daily and monthly tasks such as daily checkpoints in the mill daily mail tour daily outbound inspections and inbound inspections answered phones took call ons and call offs for the clevealand cliffs plant. The monthly tasks were being issued a few departments in the mill to do fire extinguishers first aid boxes AED's and hose real inspections and SCBA inspections .
When i was promoted to a full time supervisor my rule did change a little but not much such as I was the supervisor in charge of whatever shift i was on i was to do daily inspections on our fire trucks , ambulances, rescue , supervisor truck , patrol truck and then we had a few check points and checked up on the gate guards. When we would have any incident my job was to drive the the trucks if i had no one cleared to operate any of our apparatus's and take command of the so called incident and i was to make sure that my employees on shift was getting there job done correctly ans safely and was to give pass down reports to the next shift and i was to fill out incident reports when we had incidents.
