
I work as a deli worker but my main department is in south Flo pizza, i have made myself available all throughout the HEB store and have worked in seafood department, meat department, produce department, grocery department and dairy department whenever they need help. i have worked at 2 other HEB stores as well whenever my manager has told me they needed help or they need someone to close. I have been a lead for a small time and have shadowed my assistant manager and my main manager as far as how to deal with certain situations, such as staff, customers or food orders.
When i was at Kroger working as an employee, i originally was hired to be a Deli department worker. But my store director had me hop around to various departments, i was in maintenance/janitor, i was in bakery department, front end bagging, cashier, parking lot duty, seafood department, and dairy department to cover workers when they would call out or if the department needed someone extra.
I was helping all the chefs and cooks in anything they needed such as washing the dishes, cutting vegetables, help prep sauces and flip over some burgers every now and then at the grill for golf tournaments. At the end of the day i would scrub the floors, wash the dishes and do inventory in freezers and coolers and also do temperature checks for all the food. Although i had no previous professional kitchen experience, the head chef would teach me everything i needed to know to work there.
It was my 2nd job at randalls so i was a regular deli employee occasionally helping out the bakery department. Because Randall's had everything compacted together i would do sandwiches, rotisserie chickens and cold cut meats and hot food bar in serving customers in the deli department.
This was my first ever job as a cashier at the Chick-Fil-A in the mall foodcourt. My position was very basic as i was just a cashier at the front end taking customer orders with a greeting smile. Of course some of the other basic duties i had where taking out trash and cleaning the ice cream machine and scrubbing the floors after we closed.
