Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for regulatory board administrative work in support of Cosmetology and Barber licensing, board meetings, and customer service
- Recommends policies, procedures, or actions as needed to achieve objectives of the Commission
- Handles complaints and explains policies, procedures and laws to applicants, members of the public, and commission members
- Primary approver for all initial and renewal license applications
- Cross-trained in all aspects of board licensing (reviewing initial and reciprocity applications, renewals, retirements, name change applications)
- Processes all returned check notifications and payments of returned checks

- Reviewed/Approved 22.8K initial applications for licensure
- Answered 24K email and call-in tickets while maintaining personal 94% customer satisfaction; besting program’s average rating of 92%
- Cleared over a month-long backlog of 200+ email tickets within the first week of being hired
- Processed 100+ license suspensions; reported data to legal representatives
- Drafted Standard Operating Procedure for processing/answering the helpdesk emails
