- I was trained in surveillance of a facility that held 8 housing units and did perimeter tours of the facility once a shift
- As a Corrections Officer at the Erie County Prison I was responsible for hourly tours that included random tours and a timed and recorded tour to regulate inmate movement, behaviors and formal counts
- Inmates who have special needs such developmental or physical are often housed at the Erie County Prison and certain policies and procedures are put in place for such an event
- I have worked all housing units including females, classification units, maximum security, minimum security and The Restricted Housing Unit, which holds all inmates on prison charges which includes assaults and fights
- Monitoring inmates while eating their breakfast, lunch and dinner and placing rules for inmates to follow in the housing unit
- The counseling and monitoring inmates on suicide watch is a job duty that is highly called upon in the prison as the suicide rate and attempts have rose in recent years, it is essential for officers and supervisors to remain vigilant at all times
- The safety and security of the inmates, county property, and employees are a priority to continue to operate as a functioning facility
- It's the jobs of Corrections Officers and Supervisors working together to function a facility properly
- I was trained to have the ability to always follow written and oral instructions as well as trained in giving instructions to Officers that I supervised
- As a Lieutenant at the Erie County Prison, I Implemented policies and procedures for Corrections Officers to ensure safety of inmates and staff
- I gave yearly evaluations on employees based on performance and tardiness
