  • Conducted research on aldoketoreductases (AKRs), a family of enzymes being investigated for their potential to be a biocatalyst in the production of pharmaceutical compounds, with the goal of defending my thesis.
  • Worked in the lab of Dr. Adam Cassano, an associate chemistry professor at Drew University, along with other Drew University students to investigate different properties of the AKRs.
  • Kept track of various chemical compounds, carried out serial dilutions, conducted UV-Vis spectroscopy using a spectrophotometer, and carried out calculations using the Michaelis-Menten equation and its manipulations.
  • Successfully defended my thesis in front of an interdisciplinary committee of professors and students from Drew University in the form of a 30-minute presentation.
  • My thesis went on to be published in the Drew University library after completing the defense, and the collective work of the lab was later published in the Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications Journal.

Global Game Initiative
