On October 14, 2022, I received a certificate of completion for successfully completing an 8-week session in the Cara y Corazon program focused on a pathway to family healing from Monterey Peninsula Unified School District.
On May 17, 2024, MPUSD recognized my leadership and dedication as a parent leader in the schools, as well as my commitment to the district by uniting and empowering the community.
On July 23, 2025, and July 8, 2026, the Monterey County Probation Department Youth Center awarded me twice with a Certificate of Appreciation for my valuable services, support, education, guidance, and counseling to Youth Center residents.
I am fluent in Spanish, my first language, and studied it in Mexico for 7 years to improve my grammar and writing.
In August of 2025, I took on the meaningful challenge of serving as president of the English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) at Marina High School in Marina, California. In this leadership role, I was responsible for helping organize and support our monthly meetings by scheduling meeting dates, inviting parents to participate, and encouraging family involvement. I shared important school information with parents, helped explain topics related to English learner programs and student support, and delivered presentations to committee members and participants. Through this experience, I strengthened my communication, organization, and leadership skills while working to support students, families, and the school community.
I attend the California Association of Bilingual Education (CABE) conference each year to continue expanding my knowledge, strengthen my professional skills, and stay informed about current practices, resources, and strategies that support bilingual education and English Language Learners. Through this conference, I gain valuable insights that I am able to bring back and share with our local schools, educators, families, and the broader community.
