Summary

I've been working at ZF Industries for over 4 years. I first spent 1.5 years assembling sub frames at a station called the bushing press. I became a maintenance apprentice on June 14, 2021 so I have 2 years and 8 months of maintenance experience. I Love ZF and will forever be grateful to them for allowing me the opportunity to go to college and get a degree. The reason why I'm seeking employment at Mercedes-Benz is though I love ZF I love my wife and my daughter more, I am scheduled to work 72hrs a week on straight nights from 6:00pm-6:00am. I do have the benefit of coming in late for 2 days of the week, and I get 2 Fridays and 1 consecutive Sunday off each month. I enjoy overtime, but straight nights is rough. Mercedes-Benz has better benefits, better pay, and better scheduling. I'd be crazy not to at least try to seek employment with you guys.

  • Operated a variety of heavy equipment including skid steer, trackhoe, and articulator trucks to move coal.
  • Learned how to stick weld.
  • Performed pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to beginning work each day.
  • Got dirty, and fell in love with operating heavy machinery.
  • Deconstructed an 80ft+ coal washer, fell in love with heights. I would much rather be 90ft in the air then 100ft underground so I stuck with strip mining instead of going underground.
