This summer, I worked as a deep water lifeguard at Cowabunga Bay Las Vegas where I became a certified lifeguard under StarGuard and got a CPR/first aid certification. This was my very first job and I even received awards (beads) for my lanyard for getting 100 percents on lifeguard tests, lifeguard of the week, and for the people that I helped. I have also done small jobs here and there for family members. These jobs include housekeeping, bookkeeping, and babysitting.
I have organized and filed documents, as well as, processed checks and receivables for my dad's business. I do this at least every couple months and I am paid for it.
In the past, I have babysat for members of my family and I was recently offered money to babysit the children that my cousin is a nanny for. Previously when I have babysat, I cared for the 2 kids I was watching by monitoring them, cooking them meals, helping with homework, being a positive role model, and encouraging them to stay on a schedule that is beneficial to them.
Working as a lifeguard at Cowabunga Bay, I gained many life skills that will be important for my future such as team bonding, teamwork, safety supervision, rule enforcement, education of others on rules, completion of tasks in a timely manner, and cooperation. I received awards for my achievements working there and I enjoyed my time ensuring the safety of the guests at the waterpark. I worked until the end of the season at Cowabunga Bay, and helped clean up the park on the day it closed until next summer season.
