At a young age, I developed a strong desire to pursue a career in nursing. This aspiration was ignited when my youngest brother was born with respiratory distress while I was in sixth grade. It was a challenging and frightening time for my family, but the kindness and optimism shown by the nurses in the NICU made a profound impact on me. Witnessing the hope they brought to my parents inspired me to want to provide that same level of care and support to others in their time of need. About a year ago, my older brother who was sixteen at the time went through a difficult experience with appendicitis. As he was hospitalized, I stayed by his side to offer support. During that time, I witnessed firsthand the exceptional care provided by the pediatric nurses. Their personable and efficient approach not only alleviated his pain but also distracted him from his discomfort. This experience further solidified my passion for nursing. Having always had a love for children, I have spent a significant amount of time babysitting throughout high school and college. These experiences, combined with my desire to help others, have led me to pursue a career as a nurse at the esteemed Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Thank you for allowing me to share my journey and aspirations with you. I am determined to make a positive impact in the lives of others as a nurse.
