Dedicated volunteer with a positive attitude and strong leadership qualities, experienced at Maplewood Nursing Home, where I fostered inclusivity among residents during activities. Skilled in time management and problem-solving, I effectively organized events and ensured a welcoming environment, enhancing community engagement and support for all participants.
I help the residents at the nursing home feel welcomed and at home. I play games with them every Tuesday and Thursday and make sure everyone is included. I am also responsible for about 6 or 7 residents every time we play games. At the end, I help every one of the residents to their room.
I help with serving food to at least 50 people every Sunday, and at the end I help clean up the entire temple for next week's service. I also help with cooking food, and help with the sermons at the temple.
I am part of rocket club at my high school where I am the leader of the build team. Last month, we built a rocket that went 700 feet and landed successfully. I also took a summer program from Rice University where I further enriched my knowledge about genome engineering. As part of my final project, I made a theoretical in-vivo treatment for beta-thalassemia minor. Additionally, I also built a library at the Sikh Temple where I organized books, and helped make a spreadsheet which is used today in checking out books and keeping track of them. Tens of books get checked out every weekend from the library. I am also part of my school's robotics team. There I was tasked with building a piece for the robot which was responsible for placing the game piece for that year.
I am part of the Chemical Honor Society. This award is given to the top 10% of students in the entire class. I have also made high honor roll with distinction every single quarter in high school.
