When working as a testing assistant I would travel to different testing sites such as in West Palm Beach, Immokalee, and Port Saint Lucie. The environment surrounding this job taught me to work as a team and on my own. As a team we worked with handling heavy machinery such as a pile driver hammer, excavators, and communicated in order to establish a safe work environment. Individually this job taught values such as how to use heavy machinery, the mathematics involved in placing the beams correctly, and how to properly approach a situation and fix it when there is an unexpected challenge. We would arrive at job sites which where properties FPL would buy and we would run soil testings by collecting sand samples and taking these test back to the lab. Another sort of test we would run is when we plant metal beams into the ground and hammer it down into the soil in different locations FPL assigned. We would test with the excavators tools to be able to properly calculate how much wind the beams could withstand and to insure that the beams that are placed seven feet into the soil could support weather conditions such as hurricanes, blizzards, or storms. The main goal for the panels is that if they pass all the tests solar panels would then be installed.
