HERNANDEZ LED HIS SQUAD THROUGH 50 HOURS OF RIGOROUS TRAINING, PREPARING THEM FOR
DEPLOYMENT TO AUSTRALIA. DURING SERVICE LEVEL TRAINING EXERCISE 1-24, HE SAFELY FIRED
50 ARTILLERY ROUNDS AS A HOWITZER SECTION CHIEF, HELPED TO DEVELOP NEW STANDARD
OPERATING PROCEDURES FOR THE BATTERY, AND AS LOCAL SECURITY CHIEF, LED FOUR LIVE-FIRE
EXERCISES. DURING MARINE ROTATIONAL FORCE - DARWIN 2024, HE LED HIS SECTION IN A
MULTINATIONAL EXERCISE, FIRING OVER 100 ARTILLERY ROUNDS WITH AUSTRALIAN FORCES AND
COORDINATED THE TRANSPORT OF SIX M777A2 HOWITZERS WORTH 24 MILLION DOLLARS BACK TO
THE UNITED STATES. DURING SERVICE LEVEL TRAINING EXERCISE 1-25, HE FIRED 500 ROUNDS,
ACHIEVING FIRST-ROUND EFFECTS ON 75 PERCENT OF TARGETS AND COMPLETING A DIRECT FIRE
MISSION. SERGEANT HERNANDEZ'S EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONALISM, UNRELENTING
PERSEVERANCE, AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIM AND WERE IN
KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE MARINE CORPS AND THE UNITED STATES NAVAL
SERVICE.
