Communications and Constituent Services Manager

  • Appointed to this role based on my demonstrated success, I was promoted to serve on the Board of Commissioners as a Communications and Constituent Services Manager for District2 (non-graded role)
  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of communication, public relations, and constituent services for an elected politician
  • Responsible for working in a fast-paced, high-demand and collaborative political environment; responsible for the strategic creation and dissemination of bi-weekly newsletters via MailChimp to ensure that District2 residents remain well-informed about key initiatives, events, and critical community updates: I regularly write, design, edit and streamline the newsletters for District2
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining social media platforms: Instagram, X, and Facebook; responsible for documenting and writing stories about District2’s presence within the community: I write stories and post that ensure a consistent and impactful presence that reflect the initiatives of the District2 Commissioner
  • Responsible for creating, editing, and distributing multimedia content, including reels and full videos, to maximize community engagement and communicate vital updates across all channels
  • Responsible for attending Board of Commissioner meetings and Committee of the Whole Meetings; responsible for taking comprehensive notes, recording critical decisions, and sharing key takeaways during meetings to share with various communication outlets; tasked with designing and producing visually compelling flyers, event graphics, and promotional materials to drive awareness of District2 initiatives, events, and important information: I would create flyers and graphics for all upcoming events and important announcements
  • Responsible for managing and responding to all constituent inquiries (handling email communications and phone calls directed to the District2 office): typically responded to an average of200-250 constituent concerns each week (40-50 constituent communications per day)
  • Responsible for extensive public outreach: cultivating relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders, community partners, and elected officials; responsible for representing District2 at political events, campaigns, and community functions, to further the Commissioner’s initiatives and strengthen ties within the district
