• Erie Youth Institute of Leadership, Organizational Researcher, Spring 2016, Chosen to serve on team of researchers evaluating the Institute of Leadership. Interviewed staff, students and community leaders. Developed completely new curriculum/lesson plans to improve success of Institute. Presented results to Walker School of Business Advisory Board and Institute Leadership.
• Mercyhurst University Alumni Office, Erie, PA, Grant Writing Internship, Spring 2016, Researched ways to identify available federal grants. Developed proficiency in using Foundation Search Software. Prepared grant proposal for a PNC grant for the Mercy Center for the Arts. Contributed in the development of a Federal Grant for a Tutoring Center called 'The Big Assist' at Mercyhurst University which was submitted to the Department of Education to support high school students from the City of Erie and assist them through intensive mentoring/tutoring, exposure to careers and local job opportunities, and put students on the path to achieving their goals.
• Soil Microbial Diversity in Conventionally Fertilized Farmland & the PROJECT, Senior Thesis with Dr. Darlene Cross, January 2011-March 2012, Focus of this three-year study, conducted at Mercyhurst West Farm, was to monitor the changes in microbial diversity in farm soil during the change from conventionally farmed land to organically farmed land and to compare to several different organic amendments to determine an effective way to make this transition. Presented at the Pennsylvania Academy of Science (PAS) in March 2012.
