  • I am the lead administrative person of the seven (7) fellowship programs with a total of 20-21 fellows. I oversee and frequently manage the department’s day-to-day operations of the program and serve as an important liaison with fellows, faculty and other staff members.
  • As a program manager, I am a member of the leadership team as I work hand in hand with the Program Director (PD) and Associate Program Director (APD) and is critical to the success of the fellowship programs. As such, I must possess skills in leadership and personnel management.
  • I develop unique knowledge in interpreting and applying ACGME’s Program Requirements, policies and procedures to support compliance.
  • I inform fellows of inter and intradepartmental policy and procedure changes per advise from the GME office.
  • As a program manager, I assist, provide support and meet regularly with the Program Director concerning office management issues and activities, accreditation efforts, educational programming and support of trainees/fellows.
  • I help in identifying and evaluating the methods for improving workflow, cost effectiveness and makes recommendations to the Program Director for improvement and development of our program-level policy.
  • I maintain databases with resident and faculty data in New Innovations, ACGME’s ADS and ABIM’s Fastrack system and FREIDA listing. I also monitor the scholarly activities of fellows and faculty for submission to ACGME ADS.
  • I organize Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) and Clinical Competency Meetings (CCC) semi-annually and prepares evaluations of fellows on a quarterly basis.
  • I monitor the fellows’ reports on their duty log hours for quarterly submission to GME.
  • I maintain the ERAS database (Electronic Residency Application System) and oversees its processes during Recruitment Season. Follows up with applicants regarding missing credentials in order to expedite the processing of appointments and reappointments.
  • I work with the Program Director and the leadership from recruitment to onboarding. Collaborates with them and make recommendations in areas of strategic planning.
  • I handle visa processing (J-1 and H-1B) visas in compliance to the requirements of International Personnel in processing fellows on visa.
  • Handles completion of credentialing of current and former fellows as required by other institutions.
  • I handle the yearly update of the Cath Lab Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Manual for distribution at the start of the academic year to all fellows and nurses.
  • I email and post all conferences, educational activities, didactic lectures and symposium details to all fellows and cath lab attendings for their knowledge and awareness.
  • I submit grant fellowship requests to ABIOMED and Medtronic to support fellows with their training for approval.
  • I take part in the processing and approval of outside rotators within the Mount Sinai Health System who would like to rotate in the Cath Lab.
