4 years as an LNP working as a primary nurse on a busy floor. 5 years as an RN with excellent communication and teaching skills. 4 years of my RN achievements include being a charge nurse and I have 2 years of ICU training.
I started as an LPN at Grafton County Nursing Home and soon became responsible for one unit in their facility as a primary nurse. My responsibilites included medication administration, wound care, resident care, as well as managing 4 LNA's under me. I left full time for acute care experience, taking a year to train in the ICU. I then returned on a per diem position, picking up time there as able. I have recently been a charge nurse for this facility, which included such responsibilities as care plan meetings, admissions, skilled assessments, wound care, and managing a demanding unit with two nurses and six LNA's.
I started at Cottage Hospital as a staff nurse and within a year was trained to be a night charge nurse. My responsibilities included direct patient care, nursing assessment, telemetry management, wound care, IV management and IV med administration, supervising LPN and LNA activity, patient placement, and precepting new hires to the unit and facility. I was trained for two years in their ICU which included drip IV medications, vents, bi-pap, recovering patients from the OR, obtaining ABG, IV placement, symptom management, and wound care.
