Immigration Synthetics and Terrorism Unit (IST)

• Review travel data and identify inconsistencies to support enforcement actions.
• Perform research using internal and open-source systems.
• Assist with cases involving deserters, stowaways, and immigration violations.

Passenger Processing Unit

• Conduct primary and secondary inspections using interview techniques and behavioral analysis.

• Process enforcement actions (ER, NTA, VWR, Deferred Inspection).
• Conduct baggage exams and document findings.
• Provide Portuguese/Spanish interpretation.

Trade Enforcement Team

• Conduct cargo inspections and assist in identifying high-risk shipments.
• Review trade data and documentation for irregularities.
• Work with partner agencies (FDA, CPSC, NTSA).
• Conduct FTZ and bonded warehouse compliance reviews.

Maritime Enforcement Unit (MEU)

• Review crew manifests and monitor TECS/NCIC for lookout matches.
• Identify potential persons of interest and communicate findings.
• Assist with vessel processing and coordination with agents.

• Served as a Portuguese Interpreter within the different services provided by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, USCIS.
• Assisted officers of the various agencies of the Department of Homeland Security such as CBP, ICE, and HSI during Immigration law enforcement interviews with Limited English Proficiency applicants.
• Served as a Portuguese interpreter during credible and reasonable fear interviews and monitored affirmative asylum interviews.
• Interpreted consecutively during adjustment of status (AOS) and citizenship interviews.

• Verified passenger documentation for domestic and international travel.
• Ensured compliance with travel requirements using airline and government systems.
• Maintained situational awareness in a high-volume airport environment.
