I am Marilyn George-O’Brien a candidate interested in filling the advertised position. Thirty six years ago, I made a commitment to utilize one of my many talents to the social, physical, mental, and academic development of students. This commitment was to become an educator. As a result of this goal, my life after high school, revolved solely around students; working with them altruistically in various capacities. While employed as a substitute teacher on a month-to-month basis, I capitalized on the numerous opportunities for training and academic enhancement that became available.

My zeal to embrace education in its entirety persuaded me to continue studies at Barry University in Miami, where I attained Bachelors, Masters, and Specialist degrees in Education and Reading Literacy, respectively.

For the past thirty six years, constant interactions and planning developing for students success in various capacities remained the driving force. I found immeasurable pleasure and contentment in knowing that I chose a career that deals with molding students and positively influencing their lives.

Presently, I am involved in developing programs that cater to the specific learning needs of students and training of teachers to assist in the implementation of these special programs. I am a creative, energetic, dedicated, disciplined, and self-motivated individual who enjoy making a difference in the lives of individuals, academically. Given an opportunity to work this department will certainly prove to be an asset to the institution. I am a perceptive educator with solid record of accomplishment in attaining and surpassing targets during 36-year career. I Stay on top of trends in education to maintain modern, efficient systems meeting needs of diverse students. Additionally, I am a solid relationship-builder with decisive approach to solving operational problems.
